About REBORN
REBORN is a consultative body that aims to mobilize knowledge and resources into practice through research, innovation and partnership using responsibility as its core value to make a substantial impact on the societies.
Responsible tourism movement is one of the main missions of REBORN and is a response to the declaration of the Sarawak Commitment to Responsible Tourism made on 28 May 2021 and the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. It is also part of the global responsible tourism movement. The primary objective is to develop and manage tourism through the lens of responsibility for sustainable development and the betterment of the people and planet.
REBORN underscores the importance, urgency and significance of responsible behaviour and collective actions for economic, socio-cultural and environmental well-being. It uses tourism as a strategic vehicle to drive positive change for the common good and future generations. As such, REBORN welcomes, facilitates and accelerates collaborations among stakeholders, including public and private sectors, academic institutions, associations and local communities. It also works with various international bodies, such as UN Tourism, and the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT).
It focuses on eight functions: (1) research, (2) projects, (3) events, (4) publication, (5) training, (6) community, (7) youth and (8) partnerships.

(3) Supporting REBORN initiatives as a long-term partner
Membership Obligations

Each membership application form is only valid for a person.

Membership is renewable at the prevailing annual fees.

Membership application requires approval from the committee before payment is made.

Payment must be made via online transfer/Paypal with the following details:

A copy of the bank transaction slip with details of payment must be e-mailed to member@responsibleborneo.com for verification.

Membership is confirmed upon receipt of the membership fee. An electronic membership certificate will be issued to the member upon confirmation.

Members are expected to conduct their professional activities with respect for REBORN’s interest, and to at all times, act with integrity in all interactions with fellow members.

Members are prohibited from intentionally disseminating false or misleading information, whether through written, verbal, or implicit means, and from disclosing any relevant facts without prior written consent from the Directors or General Manager.

Members must not use REBORN’s name to represent personal, conflicting or competing interest without prior written consent from the Directors or General Manager.

Any member found to act in a manner detrimental to the interests of REBORN or its members may have their membership reconsidered and terminated by the Directors or General Manager.

The Directors and General Manager retain full control over REBORN, including the authority to engage, oversee, and dismiss members, and to exercise all necessary administrative powers for the effective execution of its activities.

Premium (Plus) Members are encouraged to go through a briefing session with the committee. This briefing serves to discuss the expectations of the members and what/how they can best contribute to REBORN and community it serves.
