About The Conference
ICRTH
ICRTH2022, held physically at UCSI Hotel Kuching on 1-3 September, was an event co-organised by Sarawak Research Society and Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, UCSI University with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Emerald Publishing as well as other local and international bodies. It was a continuation of the milestone success of ICRTH2021.
Focusing on responsible tourism, ICRTH2022 adopted the theme “Mobilising Responsible Tourism into Actions: Towards Economic Prosperity, Socio-Cultural Inclusivity and Environmental Sustainability”. Though the event took place in Kuching Sarawak, it was organised using a hybrid mode.
Programs of ICRTH2022 included opening and closing ceremonies, keynote speeches, expert dialogues, industrial sessions, physical workshops and academic presentations. About 300 delegates attended the event physically despite the uncertainty revolving around the COVID-19 crisis. A responsible tourism fieldwork was organised after the conference on September 3-4.
